Graduation

It was fun to see some old friends and feel all nostalgic during the ceremony. It was fun to have family there to support us. It was fun to have some closure. It was fun to remember all the days I spent on campus. It was fun to remember getting through all the stressful times that school brought. It was fun looking back on my 3.5 years with happy feelings. It was fun to appreciate all that my teachers and other students taught me.

Chris and I both graduated with Bachelors of Science in Exercise and Sport Science. Technically, I graduated in December and Chris graduated in May, but we walked together.

6 months

I am learning that the name of the game while pregnant, is to not look pregnant. This is becoming increasingly more difficult for me lately. However, in spite of that goal, I thought some of you might enjoy a snapshot of our growing child, Camden. I will actually be 24 weeks on Thursday.

Marianne has been feeling kicks and last night for the first time I definitively felt a kick. It was exciting. I thought I had felt one last week during the Real game, but last night was for sure. This pregnancy just keeps getting more exciting.

Honestly

One thing that I have been noticing more and more is people talking on their phones in the bathroom. I disagree with talking on them in any bathroom (public or private), but ESPECIALLY in a public bathroom?!?!?!? There cannot be many synapses going on in these people's brains. Yucky.

Antepenultimate, Penultimate

That's right. XY! Last night we stayed the night in Salt Lake at Maura and Steve's place in Sugarhouse. We had tacos, played Rock Band, which is always fun, and finished up the night with ice cream. We woke up early and drove up the university hospital and got the ultrasound. Our fetus is a boy! He was all scrunched in there with his knees up by his forehead. But we got a clear look and we're having a boy. We're really excited about it and we're looking forward to the next 20 weeks.

Opening Day!

Even though technically the season started yesterday, today is opening day in Major League Baseball. All the so-called experts at ESPN have the Angels or the A's winning the AL East. These same fools also picked the Red Sox to win the World Series last year. Let's just say baseball is not always so predictable. That's what I love about it. The Mariners could win it all. Their first game is tonight against the Twins. I love baseball.
As a bonus, the man with the best swing in baseball is back with the M's: Ken Griffey, Jr. I idolized Junior growing up and even learned to bat left-handed because of him. It's too bad he'll be just a shadow of his former self. The whole steroids issue with Bonds and A-Rod would be a moot point if Griffey had stayed healthy his entire career. He's 5th all-time! What could have been.I'm hoping he'll hit around 30 bombs, get around 90 RBIs and hit .290. He'll never make catches like this one again. He broke his wrist catching that ball. Seriously, he was such a good player.There's always a new hope at the beginning of the season. The M's were 61-101 last year, so we can only go up from there. Hopefully.

UPDATE: Ken Griffey Jr. 1-3, HR, BB. Nice start. Seattle wins 6-1.
